There are a lot of stereotypes, do’s and don’t’ about what to wear for a photo shoot. Some might say that it is not a good idea to wear narrow stripes, busy patterns or layers of the same color because the camera does not pick them up well. We say throw these old ideals out of the window, it is an outdated way of thinking and it’s not a problem for a modern camera anymore. If you want you can wear it (and of course if it represents the style of the shoot)!
A few general tips:
- Make sure your clothes are pressed and clean
- Try new clothes on before photoshoot
- Do not wear baggy, bulky, saggy or otherwise ill-fitting clothing
What to wear? Guidelines For Women
1. For a slimmer look, form fitting & figure hugging is definitely best.
2. Avoid patterns as they may detract from your face.
3. Textures add visual interest.
4. Bring a variety of colors. Something light. Something dark. A pop of color that bring out your eyes.
5. Avoid cap sleeves. Sleeveless is great on toned arms. 3/4 sleeves are universally flattering and sliming.
6. Consider layers. Add a form fitting jacket or slim knit cardigan.
7. Looks for variety of necklines to mix up your looks.
8. Select jewelry that speaks to your style. Subtle or bold? Bring the prices that are true to you.
9. Bring coordinating bottoms. Many shots are 3/4 length. Bring pants or skirts that match your tops.
10. Bring appropriate undergarments. Foundational pieces ( like shape-wear ) will help you look and feel great!
When you doubt bring more than you think you’ll need and we will help you pare down to the best choice!
